Environmental Ed in an Educational Environment

Coming to camp for Environmental Ed is a great way for kids to learn in an out-of-classroom experience.  At Camp Hazen, the Environmental Ed program is called Eco Quest. 

The Eco Quest program has been written to the Connecticut Science Standards Framework for 6th grade, with an emphasis on Matter and Energy in Ecosystems.  We utilize our 150 acres of woodlands, lakes and riparian environments to explore the natural world in a hands-on way.

The Eco Quest program includes 10 separate specialist units with more than 25 activities to choose from.  Students learn in small groups, of up to 15, and are taught by the patient and caring Hazen staff. These programs can be combined with adventure or recreational activities to make the perfect camp retreat.
